Engineering An Empire: Persia

The History Channel has a great series hosted by actor Peter Weller, that examines different empires in world history and how mostly their engineering feats made them into the powerhouses they were. A fascinating series and I'm glad to see that some episodes have been put online at You Tube. This one is on the mighty Persian Empire which began with Cyrus the Great and ended thanks to the exploits of a certain Macedonian by the name of Alexander. Very interesting to me especially since my knowledge of ancient Persia is limited. While this episode is broken into 5 parts, in all it takes about 45 minutes to watch:

Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5.
